2023 is right around the corner! Are you planning your toner strategy for the coming year? Smart imaging dealers know the pluses and minuses of selecting the right OEM toner alternatives for their customers!

Popular dealer priorities include:

  • Profitability
  • Reliability
  • Performance (Yield & Quality!)

As we look ahead to the new year, here’s what progressive Imaging Dealers tell us they are looking for in 2023.

2023 Aftermarket Toner Checklist

• Bigger Margins vs OEM

You need to make a decent profit without quality issues and backlash from customers.

• Supply Chain Visibility

Forward-thinking dealers want assurances that they can source products for the foreseeable future to avoid vendor juggling and stockouts.

• Comparable Quality to OEM Cartridges

It should be difficult for your customers to determine the difference between a page printed using an OEM cartridge, and an aftermarket one.

• Page Yields

Evidence that aftermarket cartridges are matching or exceeding OEM yields.

• 100% New Components

Is your customer receiving a new shell and new internal components, or are they used? There is a significant difference in both performance and quality.

BLI Tested

Cartridges should be tested and approved by Buyer’s Lab Inc., the industry’s most trusted third-party lab.

• Professional Packaging

What impression do your customers get when they receive and open your aftermarket cartridge packaging?

• Extended Yields

Does the manufacturer offer extended yield cartridges to maximize profitability on MPS and cost-per-page agreements?

• Quality Control

Does the manufacturer provide real-time quality control analysis and take a proactive approach to any potential issues?

• National Distribution

Can you deliver a product to customers with the distribution reach, accuracy, and speed they need?

• Industry Awards

Quality products earn a reputation among industry leaders. Have the cartridges been recognized by the community?

• Peer Review

If you asked fellow dealers about their experience, what would they say?

• Easy Returns

Does the manufacturer make you jump through hoops or complete endless paperwork to prove their cartridges are faulty?

Providing excellent service to your customers is the key to a profitable 2023! Selecting the right aftermarket toner partner will help you differentiate yourself from the competition, all while making a big difference to your customers and your bottom line in the coming new year.

150 150 LD Products

It’s been a while since OEM or aftermarket toner cartridges were tested by the industry’s most trusted lab at BLI. Here at LD Channel Partners Division, we invested in these tests to offer Imaging Dealers and their customers proof of quality and performance by a 3rd party.

This blog highlights how impressed BLI was with our new build GOLD Line cartridges when compared to regular and extended yield OEM cartridges.

How BLI Testing Works

To objectively test products from an end-user perspective, BLI confidentially sources print cartridges from dealers and compares their functionality to genuine OEM cartridges.

Their testing and evaluation process takes a full month. Devices are set to run at accelerated volumes using an industry-standard target to accurately compare the cartridges on print quality, yield, and value.

Here are BLI’s findings when putting our award-winning LD GOLD line cartridges to the test.

LD GOLD Line CF226X vs OEM Toner

BLI tested our GOLD Line CF226X new-build toner cartridge versus the HP CF226X cartridge, and the results were impressive.

BLI found:

  • LD GOLD Line cartridges produced good overall quality with darker, richer solids than those produced by HP.
  • All the LD GOLD Line cartridges tested operated reliably, completed all testing with no malfunctions, and surpassed rated yields.
  • LD GOLD Line cartridges offer a significantly lower cost-of-ownership than the OEM cartridges.

LD GOLD Line CF281X Extended Yield vs 25,000 Page HP CF281X

Our extended yield cartridges did extremely well when compared to the HP OEM 25,000-page cartridges.

BLI found:

  • The LD GOLD Line extended yield cartridges are rated for 40,000 pages; however, yield surpassed the rated yield by 16% averaging 46,507 pages.
  • Buyers Lab calculated that LD GOLD Line extended yield toner cartridges cost up to 60% less than the OEM cartridges when printing 15,000 pages per month over five years.

The Value of GOLD Line Cartridges

BLI testing shows that our standard and extended yield cartridges offer incredible value compared to OEM cartridges. The quality of our LD GOLD Line cartridges is better than OEM cartridges with darker, richer solids. Our extended yield cartridges exceed the page yield of the OEM cartridges and offer an operational cost 60% less than OEM. This can mean significant cost savings over time. That money translates directly to your company’s bottom line!
